This summer, our Crescents explored new opportunities, discovered their passions, and made a difference in their communities from the Crescent City to the Big Apple!
Hannah Price ’26 participated in dual enrollment classes at Xavier University of Louisiana, earning six college credits in English 1010 and Psychology 1010. She enjoyed living on campus, experiencing college life firsthand, and attending exciting trips to the Essence Festival, the African American Museum, Big Play Biloxi, and more. Hannah encourages fellow students to consider this program for a glimpse of college life. Brea Hines ‘26 explored her interests in the sciences through pre-college programs at both Xavier University and Tulane University. At Xavier, she returned for the College of Pharmacy program, deepening her understanding of the pharmacy industry. At Tulane, Brea excelled in a credit-bearing neuroscience course, further showcasing her academic dedication.
Meanwhile, Sofia Zavala‘29 traveled to New York City to attend a summer intensive workshop with Broadway Artists Alliance. While in NYC, she saw Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway, met the cast afterward, and visited Mother Cabrini’s shrine. Our Crescents also spent their summer developing leadership skills and serving their communities. Incoming Student Body President Zoe Aguillard ‘26 and Secretary Na’khi Myers ‘26 participated in Louisiana Girls State, a week-long program that gave young women hands-on experience in state and local government through a mock government simulation. Audrey Wright ‘27, Natalia Guggenheimer ‘26, Josie Bacino ‘27, Zuri White ‘27, and Meredith Severa ‘26 attended the Louisiana Youth Seminar, a leadership camp designed to boost self-confidence and cultivate leadership in high school students. And, Brielle Comberrel ’29 dedicated more than 100 hours at a local animal shelter this summer, adding to over 400 hours of community service she has contributed over the past two years. Way across the globe, Lorena Gonsoulin '27 traveled to Brussel, Belgium, after being awarded a CODOFIL scholarship to study Frenc.h, Lorena spent three weeks at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, perfecting her language skills. Finally, we also celebrate the creative achievement of Meredith Severa’s poem “Mother Love” was published in the anthology Figments of Fire, highlighting the talent and voice of our Crescents in the literary world. We are incredibly proud of all our Crescents for their hard work, curiosity, and dedication this summer. Their accomplishments reflect the spirit of learning, leadership, and service that makes our community shine! What will they do next?
