Cabrini High School begins this new academic year with renewed energy, growth, and vision. As construction projects take shape on campus and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus invest five million dollars into Cabrini’s future, the school also celebrates its most important investment: people. This year, Cabrini is blessed with outstanding new members of both its faculty and staff who bring professional excellence, personal dedication, and a shared love for the Cabrini community. Together, they will help carry forward Cabrini’s mission of educating the mind and heart of every student.
Mathematics Department
Andy Eddins joins Cabrini from Emory University, where he is a Ph.D. candidate in physics. With classroom experience at both the university and high school levels, Mr. Eddins brings a burst of energy and enthusiasm into the world of mathematics. He will be teaching all levels of Geometry, helping students see that learning math isn’t just about numbers; it’s about finding the right angles to solve life’s challenges.
Caitlin Ostrander, a proud Golden Eagle from the University of Southern Mississippi, is another exciting addition to our math team. Known for her warmth and approachable style in the classroom, she is already becoming a student favorite. Algebra can sometimes feel like an unsolvable puzzle, but Ms. Ostrander has a knack for helping students find the x-factor that leads to success.
Science Department
Tiffany Maracich brings decades of teaching experience from both St. Bernard and St. Tammany parishes. With a Master’s in Education from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, she will teach Anatomy and Physiology as well as Physical Science. Ms. Maracich’s deep love of science and dedication to education make her a welcome addition to Cabrini’s strong tradition of excellence in STEM.
Amanda Sisung ’18 returns home to Cabrini after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Vanderbilt University. Joining the science department to teach Environmental Science and Chemistry, Amanda brings contagious energy, a love of learning, and a heartfelt connection to her alma mater. Welcoming alumnae back to campus is always a joy, and her return is a beautiful reminder of Cabrini’s lasting impact.
World Languages Department
Maria Vargas joins Cabrini with a wealth of experience teaching at the university level, as well as a vibrant Puerto Rican heritage that she shares with her students. Teaching three levels of Spanish, she inspires students to embrace language as a bridge to culture and community. With her passion and expertise, students won’t just be memorizing vocabulary; they’ll be discovering a whole world of possibilities.
Religion Department
Elizabeth Vishnefske (“Ms. V.”) brings her love of Christ and her unique perspective after years of study in Italy. With combined degrees in theology and social work, Ms. V. will teach 9th and 10th grade religion, guiding students as they grow in faith and understanding. Her classroom promises meaningful discussion and a spirit-filled environment where young women can deepen their relationship with God while living out Cabrini’s mission.
Strengthening the Advancement Team
Cabrini is equally proud to announce exciting new additions to its Advancement Team this year. With deep ties to the school and impressive professional backgrounds, these dedicated leaders will strengthen Cabrini’s mission by bringing fresh vision and valuable experience to the roles of Development, Recruitment, and Communications.
Jennifer Bagneris ’05 returns to Cabrini High School twenty years after her graduation as the new Director of Development. A graduate of Vassar College and Vanderbilt University, Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in English Literature. She brings extensive experience in grant writing, non-profit consulting, fundraising, and event planning, complemented by years of teaching at both the high school and university levels. Her expertise will enhance Cabrini’s advancement efforts while continuing the tradition of excellence established by alumnae leaders.
Teena Costales, long-time national-ranking Crescent Cheerleaders coach, steps into the role of Director of Recruitment. With over a decade of experience working with grammar schools through Varsity Spirit and previously serving as the Technology Coordinator at Our Lady of Divine Providence, Coach Teena has cultivated strong relationships with students and families. As a Cabrini parent alumna (her daughters Amanda and Sabrina are proud Cabrini graduates), she brings both professional expertise and a personal understanding of the school’s community.
Anne DiPaola ’96, who joined Cabrini midway through the previous school year, begins her first full year as Director of Communications and Alumnae Affairs. “Ms. Anne” has spent more than two decades working in all areas of mass communications, including marketing, branding, and magazine editing, and spanning the education, entertainment, hospitality, and architecture industries. She is also co-owner of the Chicken Salad Chick franchise in the Greater New Orleans area and the mother of current Cabrini freshman Fiona DiPaola, adding another meaningful connection to the school’s legacy.
Finance Office
Jasmin Matthews joins Cabrini’s Finance Office as Accounts Payable and Receivables Specialist, bringing with her years of valuable experience from the Link Restaurant Group. Since joining Cabrini in April, she has embraced the unique spirit of the school and now begins her first full academic year feeling truly called by Mother Cabrini to be here. With her Crescent pride and bright smile, Jasmin has already made a positive impact on the Cabrini community.
Moving Forward Together
With the addition of these exceptional leaders and educators, Cabrini High School enters this school year with confidence and joy. Their dedication will shape the future of our students, enrich the Cabrini experience, and strengthen the bonds of our community. Whether leading in advancement, teaching in the classroom, or supporting students on their faith journey, each new member of the Cabrini family embodies the spirit of Mother Cabrini: faith, courage, and service.
As Cabrini continues to grow, we celebrate these talented professionals and warmly welcome them into our community. Together, we look ahead with hope and excitement to a year filled with achievement, Crescent pride, and God’s endless blessings.
